Studio-scale work, without a studio's timeline.
53 Tuesdays · A LVRG Studios Production · Honolulu, 2025

The short version
We were asked to cut a trailer for a story, and made the film as well: a 25-minute drama shot in three days in Honolulu with the islands' leading cast, crew and equipment. A production of studio scale went from script to finished film in about five months. We premiered it ourselves to around 300 people and are now releasing it online in episodes.

A trailer request became a film.
A story was brought to us to turn into a trailer. We made the trailer, then proposed something larger: a 25-minute proof of concept that would show what a fully local production could achieve, and give the story a route to a feature or series.
What came out of it
The trailer, and the decision to make the short

A story, built to grow.
We chose a story with room to expand: a drama of grief, a lonely Tuesday night and a fragile romance, written so the short stands on its own and opens the way to a feature or series. Every creative decision was held to a standard that would compete in any market.
What came out of it

The script, written July–August 2025
A studio-scale production, planned for three days.
The shoot was fixed at three days in early September. Planning meant fitting a production of this size, with a principal cast of eight including a child actor, into three shoot days without lowering the standard. Every department was staffed and equipped as it would be on a far longer shoot.

Production plan and three-day schedule

Everything settled before the first day.
We lined up what a production of this size depends on: SAG-AFTRA terms for the cast, the Hawaii Film Office, production insurance, a child welfare liaison, and locations including Laura's Camelot Restaurant & Lounge and Todaiji Temple. A marketing unit was planned alongside the film crew, so the release material would be shot at the same time.

Cast, crew, locations and partners confirmed

Three days, a cast of fifty & a crew of nearly fifty.
We shot from September 4 to 6, 2025, with a cast of 30 and about 47 crew drawn from the islands' best camera, lighting, sound and art departments, and the top equipment available in Hawaii. A dedicated unit captured behind-the-scenes film and portraits throughout. Editing, color and an original score were finished in December. Original graphic design throughout.

Premiered by us, released in digital episodes.
We planned, hosted and funded our own premiere screening, attended by around 300 people. The film is now being released online as vertical clips and micro-episodes on social media and YouTube, building an audience for the next LVRG Studios production.
